FAQs / Policies

Do you offer an initial consultation?

Yes, I offer a free initial 20-minute phone or virtual consultation to discuss what you are looking for in therapy, to ensure you feel comfortable working with me, and that I possess the skills and knowledge to help you work through the concerns bringing you into therapy.

Does sex therapy include physical touch?

No, sex therapy does not include physical touching. Sex therapy is talk therapy with the goal of the work focused on sexual concerns that are impacting your life and/or relationship.

How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no answer to this question as every person or couples needs are different. Generally, therapy can last from 3 to 12 months depending on the nature and severity of the issues being addressed. I have found that weekly or bi-weekly sessions for the first 3 to 6 months of therapy has worked best for clients, but we will work together to create a schedule that works for you and your needs.

Cancellation Policy

An appointment means that specific time is reserved for you. It is my policy to receive a cancellation notice at least 48 hours in advance. Changes made within 48 hours or No Shows will result in being charged the full session fee.

What are your session rates?

My current rate is $150 per 50-minute session for individuals and $180 per 50-minute session for couples and sex therapy. This rate may change without notice. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I’m committed to making my services accessible to everyone. I have a reduced fee policy for those who may need it. Please contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss this with you.

Do you take insurance?

No, I do not accept insurance. I am considered an Out-of-Network provider. I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Superbills do not guarantee reimbursement.

Do you offer in person sessions?

Yes, I currently provide in person sessions on Tuesday through Thursday in Denver. During the months of June and July, I will only be offering sessions via Telehealth.

What happens once I meet all my therapy goals?

Throughout our work together, we will continually assess the goals that brought you into therapy. When you feel you have reached those goals, we will begin the termination process in which sessions may only occur monthly or bi-monthly until you feel you no longer need sessions. After this, the door is always open to return for “tune up or maintenance” sessions as needed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept payments via debit/ credit cards or FSA/HSA (flexible or health spending account) cards via Simple Practice, a HIPAA compliant credit card processing system. I require each client to keep a credit card on file for payments to be processed at the end of each session and for sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice per my cancellation policy.
